Peter Buckley

Chair

B. Com, MBA, GAICD
Peter has held a number of senior executive and general management roles in ASX, private and government organisations across the engineering, health, aged care, education and community sectors. Peter is currently the Director Shire Services for Wollondilly Shire Council, aligned to the organisational vision to make Wollondilly an even better place, together.
Peter is committed to supporting the local community. He is a committee member for Camden Little Athletics Club, Vice President of the Illawarra Connection, company member of Warrigal Aged Care and previous member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board. Outside of these activities, Peter chases his children around the netball courts, coaches their Oztag team and is a manager of an age group at Little Athletics. 
Peter has proudly served on the board of The Mac since 2018, chaired the Risk Committee since 2019 and was elected Chair at the November 2022 AGM

Lloyd Pollard

Deputy Chair

Lloyd Pollard is well known to The Mac having held a position on the Board from 2008 through to 2019. Lloyd joined us again in 2021, bringing his passionate and collaborative work ethic. Lloyd brings a diverse range of management experience in Marketing, Business Planning, Governance and Risk, Finance and Human Resources and has held senior roles in the Hospitality industry. Lloyd is currently the Chief Strategy Officer of the Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL Club.

Lloyd lives locally with his young family and has a proud family history with The Mac.

Ashley Jennings

Ashley joined The Mac as a director in January 2020.
Ashley is the former Chief Executive Officer of Sydney Credit Union and brings 43 years of experience in executive management and leadership, working specifically in finance, strategy, risk management, corporate governance, Information Technology and audit and compliance. Innovative and technologically astute, Ashley brings expertise in developing governance models and driving operational and business change whilst maintaining the moral promise of upholding the fundamental principles of mutuality, transparency and fairness. In October 2010 the Customer Owned Banking Association (formerly ABACUS) awarded Ashley the Distinguished Service Award in recognition of an outstanding contribution to the Australian credit union industry. An accounting and investments graduate with an Advanced Diploma in Management, Ashley is currently the acting Chair of Transaction Solutions Limited, an IT service managed company whose competencies include hosting services, infrastructure, networks, security and business continuity solutions and end to end Cloud services.
Ashley has also held Board positions in the following areas: Financial Advisory Services, Shared Services and Training and Professional Development.
Ashley has been an active participant in community organisations, including the former Trustee / Director of the not-for-profit Australian Development Organisation CUFA (formerly known as the Credit Union Foundation Australia), delivering economic development, education, enterprise and employment projects across the Asia Pacific.
Ashley is currently a director and treasurer of the Karpaty Foundation, an organisation that provides grants and scholarships to individuals and organisations for the purpose of building a fair, just, creative and caring society.

Emma Macfarlane

LLB, GDLP, Acc. Spec. (Commercial Litigation), B.Bus (Mgt)
Emma Macfarlane is a highly effective, strategic and pragmatic Commercial Litigator and operates her own specialist Litigation and Dispute Resolution law firm in the Macarthur Region.  Emma has worked for over 17 years in the Commercial Litigation space and also hold a degree in Business (Management) - these providing her with a clear understanding of how businesses run on a day-to-day basis as well as the challenges they face in today's world. 

Emma has been awarded a number of prestigious awards including being named the 2020 Campbelltown Citizen of the Year. Emma is heavily involved in the local community and brings a wealth of strategic thinking and a commercially sound planning focus that will further strengthen the Board and The Mac itself.

Shayley McCracken

As a highly motivated and diligent professional, Shayley McCracken has held a number of finance roles across public practice, not-for-profits and private companies, providing commercial insights and strategic advice to enable business improvement and key decision making.

Shayley holds a Bachelor of Business & Commerce and is also a qualified Chartered Accountant, currently working locally as a Commercial Analyst. Her strengths are in her ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders to create value and provide robust commercial reports to support operational activities and good governance. Shayley also has extensive experience in financial accounting, and is familiar with mandatory tasks that are necessary in industry to maintain compliance with Government and other regulatory bodies.

Growing up in Wollondilly, Shayley is passionate about the local community and playing a role in the future of the region. Shayley brings a wealth of commercial expertise, strategic thinking and also a unique local voice to the Board of The Mac and its members.

Phillip Rankin

CPA ATI JP & Registered Tax Agent
As a long-term resident of the Macarthur region Phillip has contributed to many local community groups, activities & local businesses.

Phillip has wide-ranging business finance experience across a broad range of business, holds formal accounting & finance qualifications and has extensive board knowledge & involvement having been a previous director & committee chairman of The Mac for 21 years. Phillip also serves as a director & committee chairman of North Sydney Retirement Trust.

Phillip has a long standing commitment to The Mac and has a strong connection to serving the Macarthur community.

Tony Schesser

Tony Schesser is an experienced CEO and Director, well connected at senior levels across multiple sectors including the Australian and US cooperative banking industries, affiliated industry service and fintec providers, professional firms, and the Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority (APRA).

Tony's professional experience has been gained within the mutual banking and insurance sectors, including multiple years with industry associate COBA, and most recently as CEO of the industry professional development organisation Instil. Tony also brings Insurance sector experience from his time with NRMA and AMP (prior to their respective demutualisation).

Tony's core competencies include experience in working with Boards and senior management in the development of strategic and business plans; strong awareness of market forces that continue to impact on customer owned banking; research and analytical skills; knowledge and understanding of the financial services sector regulatory regime; exposure to Fintech, industry technology, and core banking system fundamentals; and a comprehensive knowledge of the culture, systems, and workflows in place within mutuals.

Tony now runs a private consulting practice serving a niche market within Australia's Customer Owned Banking Sector. Tony's educational background includes a Masters of Business Administration from Charles Sturt University, in addition to an Advanced Diploma gained in HR Management.

Our Management Team

Dave Cadden

CEO

Since 2007, Dave has worked with The Mac Board and Management Team to successfully deliver on our commitment to members. With a collaborative leadership style that directly supports an ethical and transparent culture, Dave believes strongly in traditional values consistently delivered in a contemporary world.

Having commenced working in financial services in 1973 and in executive management roles since 1992, Dave brings a wealth of strategic and operational knowledge to The Mac CEO role.

Active participation in local and industry committees, provides the opportunity for Dave to further contribute to our community and the Mutual banking sector.

Paul Brooks

CFO

Paul joined the team at The Mac in 2001. He has over 25 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry including roles as a practitioner & also a regulator. Paul is a Fellow of CPA Australia & holds a Graduate Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Paul has lived in the Macarthur region for over 20 years & in that time has been heavily involved in a number of community, Not-for-profit & School organisations at a Board/Committee level. Currently he holds the role of Treasurer on a local High School “P & C” Committee as well as Committee & Coaching roles with a local sporting organisation.

Rebecca Brookes

COO

Rebecca has been with The Mac for over 18 years. Her career has progressed over the years through branches, administration and now in her current role as the Executive Manager of Member Services. Rebecca plays a key role in the strategic direction and management of The Mac. Rebecca & her family live in the Macarthur region. “Working and living in the Macarthur area, I've watched it grow and change to what it is today. I'm proud to be a part of a team that strives to improve the well-being of our members."

Craig Oliver

CRO

Craig joined The Mac in 2009, bringing 20 years’ experience in financial services with him. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants and has managed Accounting, Compliance, Risk, Internal Audit and Operational functions. Craig is actively involved in several industry groups that promote development and co-operation within the Credit Union and Mutual Bank sector.
