  What’s my BSB number?
Your BSB number is 802-388.
  What’s a “customer owned” institution?

A customer owned institution is an organisation that’s owned by its members.

For example: Banks are shareholder owned. Shareholders are individuals that have a financial interest in the bank and desire the highest return on their investment – usually coming at the expense of customers.

Credit Unions are member owned. Our members are our shareholders, which means profits are given back to our members through our pricing and our connection to, and support of, our members.

  Why do I need to pay a share?
To become a Member, you need to become a shareholder. It’s $5 to become a shareholder. This gives you the ability to hold an account at The Mac and to have your say in how the credit union operates at our Annual General Meetings.

  How do I make deposits to my account?

You can arrange to make deposits to your account by:

  • Direct credit of payroll or other income;
  • Transfer from another savings or transaction account;
  • Online or telephone banking transfer; or
  • Over the counter at any of our branches.

  How do I make withdrawals from my account?

Accessing your money will depend on the particular features of your account.

  How often will I receive a statement?
Statements are issued either monthly or 6 monthly. Accounts attached to a Visa Debit card, cheque account or a personal overdraft will receive monthly statements. Term Deposits, Loan accounts and Junior Members will receive a statement 6 monthly. Duplicate statements can be requested at any time from our branches. Fees and charges may apply.
  What happens when my Term Deposit reaches maturity?

At maturity you can:

  • Automatically re-invest your funds for another term;
  • Add extra funds;
  • Withdraw all or part of the funds.
  What if I want to invest my Term Deposit for longer than 24 months?
If you are in a position to invest for longer than 24 months, you may wish to consider alternative or complimentary investments that offer additional advantages. We have friendly yet professional financial planners who are happy to discuss long term investment options with you. Please contact us to arrange a meeting.
  Do I use my member number or alternate reference number for credits?
For credits into any of your Mac accounts, you'll need to use the alternate reference number.
  How do I change/update my personal details?
You’ll need to speak to our friendly team by contacting our Member Service Centre on 1300 622 278, or visiting one of our branches.
  How can I open a new account?
Open a new account by completing our simple online form. Alternatively, you can contact our Member Service Centre on 1300 622 278, or visit one of our branches.
  How can I cancel a direct debit?
You can contact our Member Service Centre on 1300 622 278, or visit one of our branches.
